Pasture Raised Chicken

Pasture Raised Chicken

What’s the big deal about pasture raised chicken?

Well, there are differences in both taste and nutrient value when you compare pasture raised chicken with its factory farm counterpart. Pasture raised chickens are raised outdoors in movable coops during the summer months where the animals are free to roam and forage on plants and insects 24 hours a day. Exposure to these natural elements creates a variety of nutritional benefits.

“Pasture raised chicken meat tends to be higher in iron, higher in Omega 3, have a lower Omega 6:3 ratio, and higher in antioxidants (Vitamin E, for example).” (1)

Bethlehem Farm offers our own pasture raised chicken seasonally in our monthly meat bundles and individually as supplies last.
